I'm all taco'ed out (surprising since it's my favorite mexican food other than sopapillas!)

Went overboard on National Taco Day last week.

Maybe it's going to be Burrito Tuesday, or maybe no-snob spaghetti (just prego sauce and spaghetti noodles, no meatballs or other add-ins) since I haven't had that in awhile.

Once upon a time there was a feral cat named Prego. Really, there was. I named her that because she was always pregnant and had more kittens than she could care for. She would bring them out for me to feed when she couldn't handle them. She was the first female I TNR'd and quickly. When I left her out the morning after her ordeal, the wise kitty looked back at me with a look of pure hatred and wisdom. "I know what you did," it said. "And I'm very angry with you. But thank you." She was a feral cat who when she got old and ill and it was very cold that winter and she'd had enough, we gave her a very humanitarian end for a noble feral cat. My neighbor had a vet who said, "Yes, bring her in and we'll take care of it." She went like a beloved pet with honor and dignity. Memorial Day that year I spread her ashes on her home property where I hope she rests in peace.

Once upon a time I was the only male in an office of 12 people (read: 11 females and me). When one of my coworkers became pregnant, other coworkers would lovingly (?) call her prego. I asked about it once day because I was too dense to figure it out. I was told prego was shorthand for "pregnant" and for "Prego, it's in there!" as a spoof of the spaghetti sauce commercial ad slogan. I didn't go along with calling my pregnant coworker prego as I felt like it could be taken as body shaming and to this day I still won't call anyone prego because of the negative connotation I have about that word with reference to a female.

Nice to hear that level of sensitivity. I was one of those woman who showed early and was huge with both pregnancies. Hormones are always high. One time, my husband was driving us and we got a flat tire on the front passenger side when I was 8 months with my twins. When he pulled over into the restaurant parking lot, I refused to get out of the car, and was crying. I just knew that the people out there would think the flat tire was my fault for being so big. It has since become a family smile moment, but at the time..........

I hated being called "preggo" I would literally tell people that I was not spagetti sauce. Pregnancy hormones are great.

I'm surprised I'm not making tacos for dinner tonight since I eat them all the time, but tonight it's spaghetti and meatballs.
