afternoon everyone.

trying to do some HITs while my cat's at the vet getting a professional teeth cleaning and (possibly) teeth removed. Gonna cost at a $1k and possibly upwards of $1.5k, so anything to put a dent on that is helpful.

At least I'll work as a poll worker for early voting/election day in a few weeks, which will take care of most the vet bill. At least the Uber driver got a kick out of my cat occasional singing of her people.

We started getting insurance for our cats because of what my last cats dental bills were, it's crazy! It ends up costing us $80 a month for all 3 cats for insurance and checkups and twice yearly teeth cleaning are free. Mind you, I haven't had a dental cleaning in like... years. And neither of us humans have dental insurance, hah. Priorities!

Hope all turns out well for your cat! When my Dood got 5 of his teeth removed, including one upper canine, he was forever left with an Elvis sneer that made me laugh every time he looked at me.

We got our insurance through Banfield, which is the vet office found inside of some Petsmarts (though a lot of them have their own vet office now). It was tough because we loved the vet at our old office, but the price was so much higher and like you, the insurance through third parties didn't cover cleanings. We don't dislike any of these vets and our cats actually really like 2 of them (which I'm sure you know can be tricky) but I miss the neighbourhood feel of the other vet.

I haven't been on in a while and I decided to check-in. I see all this talk about vet insurance and definitely starting to think about it. Our youngest cat was just in three nights because we thought he was blocked. We took him to the local 24 emergency place. $1632 later he seems no better. I don't believe he was blocked at all. Unfortunately, I think he is dealing with some type of worm. He had a horrific injury as a kitten (was attacked by a wild animal at about 4 weeks old). Someone found him and a vet nursed him back to health. I had no idea the importance of getting them dewormed and wish a vet would have stressed this to me. Now he is about a year and four months and dealing with worms. I think it was the root of all his problems. I don't mind paying if they get it right but I feel taken this last go around.
