Realistically you are better off having a longer term goal rather than a daily at least to me anyway. I look more at overall month for example as some days are just gonna suck and there isn't much you can do about it.Yes!

Exactly. Since I don't use my phone to do HITs, then I don't have to worry about a requester hacking my phone. Plus, there are more HITs, from what I've seen anyway, that require you to perform them from a desktop, or a laptop.
My phone wasn't hacked but they rejected me. They said my assignment had some kind of error and ignored me when I contacted them
This is true. I've already accepted that most weekends are going to move at a snail's pace. If I can get myself out of this deep depression, going to be at 5:00 AM and waking up around 1:30 PM, I should be able to make up for the amount I lose out on the weekends.

Nice! What did the $12.00 HIT entail? How long did it take you to complete? The most I've made from one HIT so far, is $5.00.
Traditionally I've usually been able to squeeze out 40-50 per day on weekends, you'll definitely have some weekends where that just doesn't happen though. Just all depends. Like you mentioned before the bulk of work is best done on desktop, there are some hits that work efficiently on mobile though. I've done a decent bit of phone specific hits and some of them pay fairly well, so it is worth considering depending on which OS you are running. The mobile userbobs for example pay a good bit more than the desktop ones.
It was a game/activity about recognizing patterns. I'm not sure how much more than that I can say, but I think it took about 45 minutes? Maybe a little less. How long it takes totally depends on you though. I could see it taking much more or less time.
I'm assuming that my numbers would have to be much higher, for me to be able to make that much per day. As of right now, I'm currently at 748 approved HITs, with 68 pending. Any advice you could give me to make a $40.00 day would be greatly appreciated.
Oh, I didn't even think about the confidentiality clause aspect of the HITs. Sorry. That's awesome that you were able to make that much, just by playing a game.

Honestly, I wouldn't count on $40 a day. Not with <1000 hits approved. Assuming that you have no closed quals. Especially on weekends.
Sure, having more hits/quals plays a part, but I can say I was able to do 41.24 and 49.20 my second weekend into turking so it more has to do with what is available, also personal completion speed and being able to multitask play a part. Like knowing what is worth sticking on a panda vs just waiting to see if it pops back up. I've always tended to set catchers for higher paying things, but limited current catchers to about 5-6. I also try to pay attention to how often something is put up if its something I have my eye on. I would imagine that different people have very different approaches to the whole thing though. Like I haven't been around nearly as long as some of the folks have been, so I don't make anything crazy on this by any means due to quals/occasional motivational issues/regular work and so on. I did about 6200 last year working about half the year part time on this. Like boone just said though, this can be horribly erratic in terms of what is feasible in a given day though.
Trust me, I've been putting out applications for a while now. With me having to care for my mom, it kind of keeps me tethered to this apartment. Plus, not having an automobile limits the radius in which I can work. The only reason I'm able to get to the plasma lab, is because my city has a transportation system that only charges $1.00. But you have to schedule a ride a day in advance, and they only pick you up in the mornings, and stop running around 2:00 PM.
