Play around with HS, it's ugly as fuck, but once you get used to it, it's actually invaluable.

I have an HP all in one that is about three years old. I looked into the second monitor and it looks like it is a pain in the ass to do. Have to dig deeper because I actually picked up a decent monitor at a garage sale over the summer for about $10. IIRC, the adapter was kind of expensive.

you dont need another monitor. start min/maxing with what you have, expand as you feel you need it
