Honestly, I'm tempted but I'm also in good enough shape that with 2 feet of snow, I'll shovel twice because lifting it doesn't bother me. Now if I was 5-10 years older, I'd be looking at that snowblower.

for the most part, if she doesn't shovel herself out - it's going to be snowed in until April. Even when it warms up (to about 40 or so) I still have about a foot or more in the yard. It just won't melt until spring. She can use the kitty clay AFTER she shovels, though

I read once about trucks in Anchorage freezing to the ground, their tires, and now I know what that is like!
Some sort of careful spray rubbing alcohol solution would work for her windows. Or get the stuff in the store. It's quicker. I will admit I went out this morning with a lighter, the kind with the long "nose" and a hammer to get my gate opened. I only needed the hammer and it was warm enough it didn't take much effort to knock that ice off the latch. Poor birds didn't get fed yesterday because of the ice and I do love to watch the cardinals.
