Yikes, with the sedative.

My cat seems quite mild by comparison, as she mostly meows only when the car is at a stop light or going really slow as it slows down/starts up due to a stop light - even though she never needs a sedative. She pretty much always meows on the way to the vet and only once or twice on the way back. She needs to be placed in the backseat facing the front, so she can view the road from between the front seats or she will meow even more and more dramatically.

I don't know how to drive, so I always tip the Uber driver a lot more (especially the heading to the vet) for putting up with the meows. She has gotten better with time. Took to a different vet as they had a dermatology department on Wednesday, but she was relatively calm given it was 30 minutes away (vs 12-15 minutes at her primary vet). She likely needs to be placed on a prescription diet due to allergies and $111 for a 17.6 pound of dry food.

that's a lot of money for cat food!

Our dog is pretty big - and poorly trained. But the tech did tell me that he was sitting and giving them his paw (for treats) when she brought him inside.

When I cuddle with him, I always say: You're not a dog. You're a dog and a half!

In old fire departments, the horses would get freaked by the bells when an alarm came in. Pure dalmatians, being pre-dsiposed gentically to being hard of hearing, couldn't hear the bells and would walk around like hothing happened. The horses, seeing that would calm down.
