I wonder if it is related to the breaking CDC recommendation of no gatherings of 50+ people for the next 8 weeks with few exceptions.

public libraries were shut down here by order of the city but it doesn't affect me as i use my library card for online resources that my local library has.

They already closed the ones here in Orlando.. I got a message from healthy start and they are closing down the offices so Zoya wont have her therapist coming for at least 2 weeks to work with her :/ Hoping they dont close her gym down or she will drive me insane

They just published a story that the positive cases in my county increased 2 fold today. Our city doesn't have libraries, they are all county libraries and I too use the online resources. Here it's the homeless and the kids on Spring Break that will suffer from the closures.

It makes sense since they believe the virus can live on soft surfaces like paper for 24 hours. They're telling everyone to hang onto whatever they have borrowed until they reopen. I feel for the homeless - the shelters are at max capacity, they rousted them out of their tent camp last week - no libraries means no bathrooms, no place to sit inside and it's predicted to snow on and off through Tuesday and be very cold.
