I've submitted a couple hits accidentally without links but I always send them a message with a link immediately afterwards. Maybe it was the amount of text in the hit? They won't let you submit anyways unless you have at least the bare minimum amount of words, but if they're looking for people to hit the maximum words per hit then they won't be worth doing anyways.
