Honestly, most will do the job fine and you can buy them for 20 bucks or so. With the fancy ones you're paying mostly for better materials and the ability to heat water to different temperatures, not just boiling.
But it's a pretty simple device so just check the reviews for what people have to say. Once you go electric kettle, you never go back.

I actually do also sometimes, I have one of those squirt bottles like at subway in the fridge with the mayo they use and sometimes i get McD's fries and dip them in mayo, not very often lately though
