Unfortunately, there’s no internet in prison (or very limited access to email and a few approved things on a closed system). They take away part/most of the money you make to pay for your stay/crime - they even take away inheritances , etc. Your roommate is ‘assigned’ and there is no choice about who your neighbors are (they are many and close and often ‘unbalanced’). The food is terrible. You won’t get to shower everyday. They do a lot of strip searches. They restrict how much ‘stuff’ you can have and exactly what it is. The quality and quantity of the medical, dental, etc. varies widely and you certainly can object but you may be dead by the time it’s resolved. Your television watching is censored and so are any purchases you may want to make (including books) which you have to buy through a ‘company store’ set up and there’s no ‘credit’, it’s cash on the barrel head. Lots of violence. Lots of noise. In my opinion, it’s better to die toothless, blind and alone.
