When I was a kid, I would watch some Mexican shows like El Chavo on tv, and it was incredibly confusing when they talked about eating a torta.

In my country, torta means cake, like birthday cake. So every time they talked about tortas I expected them to pull out a slice of cake and every time they pulled out a sandwich instead. I thought they were insane people.

definitely want to try your version of a lengua torta.

I grew up in the midwest so I know how awful the summers can be! We will be doing lots of indoor activities - and all the train stuff we can find for my 4 year old! My sister lives there already so she's going to show me all the cool places to eat
