funniest thing in the world to me even after 20 years.. i was in Rome as a college student for a semester and as most are probably aware it doesn't take but a few weeks to get to the point where you're not sticking out like a sore thumb as an American tourist and the natives don't treat you like anything other than someone who lives in the city. Well, that came into play about a month after the semester started. A friend of mine and I were sitting in the Vatican on the Colonnade just talking when an American couple came up to us, clearly lost, with their Italian phrases book. My friend and I let them go on in their very broken Italian for about a minute or two until we just couldn't keep a straight face any longer. A bit of laugh and, "wait a sec. We're actually from Texas. Just here as students. Now, where are you trying to go?" At that point, we knew we'd figured out, and gotten comfortable with, blending in w/ the Romans. Good times. I miss that city.

In college, I took a French class from this older man. He would go around the room and ask us questions in French. One day, he asked me in French, "Are you irresistible?" The class started laughing. I answered that I was not irresistible. He said, "Mademoiselle, I disagree with you. You are irresistible." The class laughed again.

I've never forgotten that little man. He was quite the character.

So I've done a couple transcription HITs today cause the pay is decent and I wasn't catching shit else, but this guy's pay scale is way off. 3 minute video for 5 bucks, nice, 2 minute for 3 dollars, not bad, then...12 dollars for an hour. Think I'll be returning that one :thumbdown:

It's a very soothing language.

I have an uncle who was a mathematics and German professor, and is an expert in the study of and reproduction of succulent plants.

This is actually on the MTS road map.

No, at this point it will require near live update tracking and comparing the updated time to the submitted time and then averaging that out. That'll not really give you an auto approval time, but averaged out will give you that requester's/batches average approval time which is good enough (still AA hah).

I can't add something like this to MTS before getting it extensively tested to make sure its not gonna destroy you on page requests when it updates. Before that I have to make it, and before that I have to get MTS up to date. Though tbh making it probably won't be too hard, its the update MTS cause no sense in adding it right before I have to tear it down and rebuilt it again.

Once I finish learning and stuff, I'll have time to work on MTS again and add this stuff + bring it back to standard. Still currently pegged to start back up in Oct.

is it gonna blend mturk engine's superior tech with mts' superior workflow?

yeah packt is great

not bad getting a 320-page book with 4.5/5 star reviews for free -- great for the kindle

they do freebies every day, so always worth checking back, but i just assumed there must've been some correlation lol
