Quick question about Dermott Lynott HITs. I have one that is about to expire that I caught off PANDA and I didn't notice...

Is it okay to submit the HIT before the timer expires and then proceed to finish the survey itself after the fact? Has anyone done that before? I've done it for other requesters who match surveys to HITs via mTurk IDs without any problems.

I'm sure there will be varying answers to your question, but it all comes down to: you are responsible for the integrity of the work you submit under your account. That's a decision that only you can make regardless of what others have or have not done in the past.

I've done that but rarely

Yeah, I've done about 100 or so Dermotts before and this is the first time I've done this... but I re-read the fine-print instructions and it seemed pretty clear that they will match the survey to the HIT via mTurk ID and there is no requirement to completing the survey within the allotted time of the HIT itself. They just ask that you a) complete the survey and that b) your performance is of sufficient quality.

Of course, I too will do this very rarely because it seems far too easy to accidentally forget to complete the survey portion, especially when there are multiple Dermotts in-play like there are today.
