which was your worse ? Being in central fl we nearly get spared everytime
I was in Florida in 2005 and we got slammed with hurricanes (you remember that year). But the worst for Tally wasn't a major hurricane. Most major hurricanes hit in the panhandle and by the time they got through Tally were down to a cat 1 or tropical storm. The problem with the interior north of the state is that there are huge trees (not just tiny palm trees). So, even in a TS, they can ALL fall. Like, hundreds in the city. The last hurricane we had (right before we left) that wrecked the city was Hermine. Literally all over town trees were down - some on cars, houses, and blocking streets. In the city alone, over 300 trees. In our neighborhood, you couldn't walk at all (too many trees down on lines).
We lived through Matthew, too - we were coming up here to look at places to buy (or rent). We followed the hurricane up 95 and got stuck in Lumberton. (Crazy, memorable, and totally dangerous drive!)
