I saw that at a friend's house many years later, but he had seen it in the theater, and he mentioned that they had to pass out a sort of glossary card to the audience to help them make sense of it. I still think he was telling the truth.
Crazy, but I like it.
There was also another more "normal" Dune adaptation (maybe for TV), if I recall, and I had it on DVD but someone literally stole it from me. That wasn't bad either.

I saw it in the theater but didn't get a handout. Most of the handouts, which arrived with the film canisters, were just tossed out or left on a desk somewhere. They never made it into guest hands because something like that just wasn't protocol. So it was overlooked, en masse. That's what I liked about the movie, though. It didn't give a shit if you understood. You either jumped in with both feet for 2.5 hours, or you didn't get it and hated it. There was no casual viewing of it. It's like Avatar. You either buy-in, or hate it.

That's what I liked about the movie, though. It didn't give a shit if you understood. You either jumped in with both feet for 2.5 hours, or you didn't get it and hated it. There was no casual viewing of it. It's like Avatar. You either buy-in, or hate it.

I think that goes for all of Lynch's works. :thumbup:
