Same with theater. It's part of why theater is so damn superstitious. You're not even supposed to say the last line of a play during dress rehearsal, because people are worried that if you do a perfect dress rehearsal, you'll fuck up opening night.

some of it was skill, obviously, but its easy to see how something little could just throw him off the edge. Not as obvious as Lincecum's insane delivery, but still.
