I'm curious as to your thoughts on TV reviews of "fastest time" on some of these surveys. Seems some people reviewing can get surveys done in half the time or less than the average turker. Do you think this is do to automation scripts, poor time tracking (misuse of the pause hourly button), or what?

Obviously I do not want to partake in anything unethical, but I feel like I might be missing out on some vital time saving tips here.

Maybe I'm just a slow reader.

It's generally accurate imo, but that all depends on how you read and answer questions since not everyone has the same time frame when doing it.

I think it's probably a mix of all of those things, depending on who it is. Some people read very fast, and I imagine that accounts for a lot of them. I would imagine misuse of the pause hourly button might also be a common issue. I wouldn't put it past some people to be using automation scripts either. There was someone that tried posting a script on here a couple years ago that automated survey responses based on past responses. We ended up banning that person over it because that is really, really not something that people should be using (all it does is invalidate the requester's data). But I wouldn't be surprised if there are some that are using stuff like that.

Mind had absolutely no untoward speech in it. So, you can't tell what you'll get. Chocolate with nuts or without.

For me I've decided it's really simple - I'm just slow :\

Indeed. It's not just my being slow and overly picky, I have to pace myself now or I'll quickly run out of steam...and then if a terrific batch of crane nests comes up, I may be unable to outlast it. It's really a nuisance to have to stop in the middle of something and take a little nap and recover enough to continue. Especially when there's no more to continue with.

I know a lot of surveys I'm a bit slow at because they tax me emotionally/mentally. I just take a breather if I need to. I'm in no competition with anyone. Working for pennies already makes me feel shit enough, I don't need to let it fester b/c I wanted to be as speedy as TV.
I also ignore most times on TV b/c I'm just a generally un-trusting person :/
